Transformational Growth & Mind-Body Healing

Holistic therapy, consultation, and professional training specializing in EMDR therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

Healing Through the Mind-Body Connection

At Imaginal Mind, LLC, licensed mental health counselor Kara Baertsch, LMHC has been helping clients heal through mind-body therapy since 2015. Unlike traditional talk therapies that focus mainly on thoughts and behaviors, mind-body therapies address the nervous system, emotions, and stored trauma at their root.

Kara’s integrative approach combines EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), IFS, Somatic Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to help you process unresolved experiences, release distress held in the body, and reconnect with your authentic self.

Through this deep healing work, clients experience reduced anxiety, relief from trauma symptoms, improved emotional regulation, and meaningful personal growth.

Understanding EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

If you’re new to therapy, some of the terms can feel unfamiliar. Here you’ll find clear, simple explanations of four mind-body approaches you may hear about in the healing space: EMDR, IFS, Somatic Therapy, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

Each description is designed to give you a quick understanding of what these methods involve and how they support emotional healing and growth.

  • EMDR is a proven therapy for trauma and PTSD that uses guided eye movements to help your brain safely reprocess painful memories. By reducing the emotional charge of past experiences, EMDR allows you to heal, feel calmer, and respond more freely in the present.

  • IFS therapy helps you explore and heal the different “parts” of yourself that carry pain, protect you, or hold conflicting feelings. By building compassion and balance within, IFS supports emotional clarity, self-acceptance, and lasting transformation.

  • Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between body and mind, using breath, movement, and body awareness to release tension and trauma stored in the nervous system. This approach helps calm stress responses, increase resilience, and restore a sense of safety in your body.

  • KAP combines the safe, therapeutic use of ketamine with professional guidance to help clients access deeper levels of healing and insight. It can be especially helpful for those struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma, supporting breakthroughs when other approaches have felt limited.
